FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN works as part of a team installing & servicing commercial overhead doors & other loading dock equipment at customer sites within a multi state geographic region. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys travel, working with people, excelling at meeting customer expectations and who can work successfully with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professionally install DL Manufacturing overhead doors and other products at customer sites.
  • Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting and service calls at customer locations.
  • Conduct product inspection in the field.
  • Work with clients throughout the installation process in order to meet client’s performance expectations and train customer employees on operation and maintenance of the product.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical, customer service & communication skills on the job.
  • Troubleshoot product performance issues and resolve customer questions and concerns.
  • Act as technical liaison during the selling and installation processes. Perform QA following installation of new products.
  • Collaborate with management to evaluate product performance and to recommend refinements and improvements of all components.
  • Field Service Techs travel and work within a multi state geographic region.

     

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of field service, installation or light duty construction experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to drive fork lift / Scissor lift.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs and use heavy tools.
  • Strong organizational & problem-solving skills.
  • High energy, organized & self motivated. Able to work well independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous welding & light metal fabrication experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

     

Pay Rate: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour (Service), $18.00 per hour (Travel)

SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSISTANT

The SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSISTANT receives and ships freight into and out of the warehouse; prepares and ships packages accurately and timely; inspects shipments for accuracy; and hands off all packages to FedEx/UPS drivers at the end of the day. In addition, the Shipping & Receiving Assistant maintains warehouse inventory supplies, handles stock to fulfill the assembly line needs as needed, maintains the cleanliness of parts and facilities, as needed, operates a powered fork truck to move freight throughout the building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, distribute, and store products and materials.
  • Load & unload material from tractor trailers onto or from pallets, trays, racks & shelves by hand or tow motor. 
  • Verify, record, and keep records of all outgoing and incoming shipments. 
  • Verify information against bill of lading, invoices, pick tickets, orders, and/or other records. 
  • Communicate with truck drivers (multilingual) and be able to load/unload full truck load shipments (mainly outgoing Door orders with oversized freight).
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record and report shortages and discrepancies, and communicate with appropriate personnel to rectify. 
  • Prepare products or materials for shipment, attach shipping labels, and identify shipping instructions. 
  • Determine LTL shipment or process for UPS/FedEx shipment utilizing Starship software for processing/scheduling/labeling. 
  • Inspect shipments for quality and accuracy; inspect accompanying documents for accuracy. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Experience handling outgoing UPS & FedEx shipments.
  • Able to work safely and effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles & quality control.
  • Able to stand for up to 90% of the work day, walk up to 50% of the workday, talk and hear 100% of the workday.
  • Able to bend, reach, lift above shoulders, grasp, pull, push, hold objects.
  • Able to lift 50-60 pounds as needed and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Strong organizational skills & excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Pay Rate:  $19.00 – $24.00/hr

PRODUCTION ASSEMBLER

DL Manufacturing is a recognized industry leader in the design, manufacture and installation of products for the loading dock. We are committed to improving safety and productivity on the loading dock working with Fortune 500 companies with some of the most innovative products in the industry.

The PRODUCTION ASSEMBLER works as part of a team assembling products including commercial overhead doors, safety chocks, lights,
and fans.  The Assembler inspects the assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and packs them for shipment.

We are hiring for 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., M-F).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble various DL Manufacturing products, accurately and efficiently, using hand or power tools.
  • Program and/or test control boards.
  • Meet production metrics to achieve order goals in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations, reporting non-compliance and/or defective materials to supervisor.
  • Prepare product for shipping – pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes, place finished goods on designated pallet.
  • Assist in cycle counting inventory.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to use various hand-held, cordless and air operated tools.
  • Experience with JIT manufacturing.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Lifting up to 49 lbs.
  • Able to stand for up to 90% of the work day.
  • Able to bend, reach, lift above shoulders, grasp, pull, push, hold objects.
  • Experience working with various computer programs.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Pay Rate:  $17.00 – $18.00/hr
