Q: How do I change the VL2001 or VL7001 replacement bulb in my Versa Light?
A: Click here for detailed instructions.
Q: Can I use a replacement bulb other than the VL2001 or VL7001 for my Versa Light?
A: No. The VL2001 & VL7001 bulbs were designed specifically for use in the Versa Light dock light. Similar bulbs on the market do not reflect the infrared heat back to the bulb shield; this creates a potential FIRE HAZZARD due to heat buildup in the front of the bulb.
Q: How long does the VL2001 bulb last?
A: Bulb life for the standard Model 420 is approximately 2,000 hours and it is 4,000 hours for the new Model 420XL. Factors that would affect these estimates would be mounting the Versa Light at a height other than 66” and the actual line voltage at the facility.
Q: Why do I need to mount the Versa Light at 66”?
A: This height is required for proper airflow which maximizes bulb life. It also maximizes the flexibility of the Versa Light tube and allows for easy light adjustment by the dockworker.
Q: Why is Safety Signal one of the hottest ideas in dock safety?
A: Safety Signal is designed to be the COMMUNICATION line between the dock worker and the truck driver. This communication line has proven to be the key factor in dock safety. Additionally, the Red/Green light signals are universally accepted protocol.
Q: How does Safety Signal differ from other products on the market?
A: Safety Signal is not just another Red/Green light package. The automated control panel uses LED lights, a convergent photo eye (in lieu of a mechanical switch) and a patented outside light box specifically designed to project the Red outside light beam directly at the driver’s mirror.
Q: What is the purpose of the convergent photo eye?
A: Safety Signal uses a convergent photo eye in lieu of a whisker switch that can fail mechanically or a manual light switch that is subject to the possibility of human error.
Q: How does Smart Chock differ from mechanical restraints?
A: Versatility – It can be used on any vehicle and is not dependant on the size of the vehicle or the condition of the ICC bar.
     •  Smart Chock interconnects: wheel chock/dock communication lights/dock door.
     •  Inside control panel can interlock and control dock light, fan, & leveler.
High intensity LED lights for inside and outside boxes.
     •  No bypass switch.
Integrated warning system if chock is prematurely removed while door is open.
     •  Less costly to purchase and maintain – initial cost is about a third of a mechanical restraint. Plus,         mechanical restraint problems lead to costly downtime and re-scheduling.
Oversized, high strength aluminum chock with non-skid steel back plate.
Q: Is Smart Chock energy efficient?
A: Smart Chock’s entire system runs on 115V/.5 AMP – very low energy consumption. Smart Chock is able to integrate with other dock equipment to save on unnecessary energy costs by interlocking the Versa Light dock light, AeroTec fan, and leveler to function only when the wheel is chocked and the door is open.
Q: How does AeroTec work?
A: AeroTec is not a typical dock fan– it’s actually an air exchanger capable of cooling or warming a trailer within seconds. AeroTec creates a high-velocity column of air that continually circulates fresh air throughout the entire trailer, creating a more comfortable work environment for loading dock workers.
Q: What happens if AeroTec is hit?
A: The breakaway plastic air delivery tube can be easily reattached without costly repair or replacement.
Q: Why was the MxV™ dock door developed?
A: We listened to customer’s concerns and went back to the drawing board with every aspect of a dock door - the result is a unique, patented dock door design that works like no other dock door made - from its light-weight durable design, to its ease of operation.
Q: What is the brush seal?
A: The brush that delivers value – MxV uses brush instead of rollers or pins. The polypropylene brush won’t wear or fray. It’s washable and provides the best door seal available on the market today. More importantly, the brush allows the MxV to be knocked out and reset with ease.
 RxV™ knockout replacement panel
Q: Can the RxV™ replacement bottom panel be used on any dock door?
A: It can be used on most Sectional Doors that have 2 foot high bottom panels with a range of 1 ½ - 3 ½ inches in thickness.
